Early Career Piping Engineer As a Piping Engineer in Amentumu2019s Nuclear Projects team, you will work with mid and senior level Engineers to design systems for Piping, HVAC and Plumbing. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting in the development of: u2022 Material Specifications u2022 Construction Specifications u2022 Hydraulic Calculations u2022 Air Flow Calculations u2022 Utility Equipment sizing calculations u2022 Stress Analysis calculations u2022 Mechanical Equipment Schedules u2022 Plumbing fixture specifications u2022 Review and Validation for International Building Code (IBC) Requirements u2022 Material Handing mechanical specifications for conveyors, hoists, cranes, lifts, dollyu2019s, etc. u2022 General oversight of the system design for compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specific customer requirements. u2022 Field Inspections and walkdowns of existing mechanical systems Requirements : Mechanical Engineering BS Degree from an accredited university A general understanding of Building Mechanical Systems: HVAC/Piping/Plumbing Preferred Qualifications : In addition to the Basic Qualifications the ideal candidate might also have: + Intern or related working experience is preferred + Effective communication skills + Exhibit integrity and the highest quality in all activities + Initiative-taking, team-focused professional + Initiative-taker with the ability to learn new calculation and analysis software + Attention to detail Essential Functions Work Environment Office environment. (95%) Telework is not an option for this role at this time for Entry level positions, all work performed from secure office environment. May be exposed to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals and industrial facilities. Physical Requirements : Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions. Must be able to move and sit for extended periods (100%) as well as and lift up to 35 lbs (25%).Vision correctable to 20/20. Candidate must have the ability to read and use SmartPlant design software unassisted.
