Job Description A client is seeking a Construction Safety Coordinator will primarily be responsible for ensuring a safe work environment at a Power Plant's construction site. The role involves actively working in the field, observing contractors, identifying and correcting safety hazards, and supporting the implementation of safety procedures. This individual will be part of a team and work closely with another safety professional who will handle the majority of the paperwork and reporting tasks. The primary focus of the role is field oversight, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and promoting a culture of safety among contractors. Callouts: - This role is on site 5 days a week at Mill Creek. - Looking for someone that can work well in a team environment and knows how to effectively communicate. Responsibilities: u2022 Actively monitor and oversee the safety practices of contractors performing construction work on-site. u2022 Perform regular safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Recommends corrective actions in the field when safety performance is found to be unacceptable. u2022 Assist with the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans, including emergency evacuation, fire, medical, and rescue protocols. u2022 Attends project pre-planning, progress, and other relevant project-related meetings to discuss safety-related matters. u2022 Maintain a strong presence in the field, serving as a resource and point of contact for safety-related inquiries and concerns. u2022 Assists in the investigation of project-related accidents. Confers with supervisor to determine root cause and discuss recommendations for changes in the work processes to eliminate recurrence. u2022 Collaborate with the on-site safety lead to ensure all safety procedures and documentation are up to date. u2022 Coordinates compliance with Company Policy, such as LOTO, hot work, confined space, etc. u2022 Performs other duties as assigned. u2022 Complies with all policies and standards. This is a DRIVING role - Could potentially drive a company vehicle on site. (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) u2022 Strong organizational skills with a focus on fieldwork rather than office tasks. Preferably OSHA 500 or CHST First Aid/CPR certification
