Description We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer II to support grid improvement and major utility infrastructure upgrade projects in Charlotte, NC This role focuses on field noting, designing, reviewing, and delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for overhead and underground distribution systems. QA/QC experience is highly desirable, as youu2019ll help ensure the accuracy and quality of designs while strengthening and modernizing the regionu2019s electrical network. What Youu2019ll Do: + Apply technical expertise to develop engineering designs that meet project specifications, codes, and industry standards. + Collaborate with Designers and Drafters to complete design packages, calculations, and drawings. + Support the preparation of simple to moderately complex designs and contribute to larger, more complex projects. + Lead discipline-specific design efforts on simple projects and assist with technical analyses on complex work. + Utilize CAD and engineering analysis software to support project deliverables. + Communicate scope, cost, schedule, and quality challenges to team leads and project managers. + Interact with clients on a limited basis and ensure clear, professional communication. + Conduct self-reviews and participate in peer and quality control reviews to ensure accuracy. + Support fielding activities and perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: + Bachelor's Degree in engineering at ABET accredited university + 1-2 years of electrical distribution design experience + Knowledge of the software BOUD and Maximo + QA/QC experience is highly desired + Client Facing Experience / construction support.
