Job Description An employer is seeking a plumber to assist in Baltimore, MD. They will be responsible for the following: u2022u2003Perform inspections and maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure safety and functionality. u2022u2003Reads and interprets complex schematic and construction drawings, service manuals and other technical documents. u2022u2003Follows instructions provided by blueprints, drawings, written materials, work orders and oral instructions. u2022u2003Identifies, analyzes, diagnoses and resolves routine and complex plumbing equipment problems and component conditions. u2022u2003Adhere to all applicable requirements, including safety standards and local codes. u2022u2003Interpret diagrams, blueprints and other related drawings. u2022u2003Inventory and properly track supplies, equipment, tools and machinery. u2022u2003Communicate with Facilities leadership, other related trades, apprentices and coworkers effectively to promote efficiency. u2022u2003Trains peer and lower-level positions as directed by supervisor, based on the guidelines of the JHU Apprenticeship program. u2022u2003Works with the Plumbing Maintenance Workers to requisitions in-house stock items. u2022u2003Requests non-stock items for purchase subject to supervisor approval. u2022u2003Makes decisions based on trade practices, National Plumbing Code, and supervisor direction as appropriate for the scope of this position. u2022u2003Plans and estimates the materials and labor required to perform demand work and construction projects. u2022u2003Actively engage Plumbing Maintenance Workers into skills-based training activities to build their knowledge and effectively train them for growing skills independence. u2022u2003Recommends and participates in departmental plumbing operations development, improvement, and implementation as it relates to current/anticipated workload. u2022u2003Performs work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
