Security Officer #SWI-7519 Springfield, Massachusetts, United States FT/ PT - Full-time Shift Schedule - 1st shift: 7:00 am - 3:15 pmDescription Security Officers are responsible for carrying out allassignments, programs and special instructions involving fire andsecurity personnel to insure full and adequate protection of Companyproperty and personnel. Officers must use good judgment when conductinginvestigations and preparing reports relating to security issues. PayRate: $20.07 per hour ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Controlaccess to the inner perimeter of S&W property. Control entrance and exitof all personnel and visitors. Monitor CCTV and alarm systems andrespond to alarm notifications. Alert appropriate personnel in the eventof emergencies. Prepare written security reports documenting importantoccurrences during the shift. Attend regular training to maintain MA LTCand firearms proficiency. Cooperate with local police, fire and civildefense agencies. Make recommendations for continuous improvement to S&WSecurity Program. Regular attendance (as defined in our policies) isrequired. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: Additionalresponsibilities may include providing ancillary support in case ofemergency. Assist in maintaining a clean and clutter free workstation.Department specialty assignments and/or special projects assigned toindividuals. QUALIFICATIONS:Experience, Competencies and Education Minimum 1-3 years' securityexperience required; may substitute law enforcement and/or militaryexperience for security experience. High School diploma/GED required;College degree preferred. Candidates must be at least 21 years of ageand be able to perform the duties required of the position. Candidatesmust possess a MA Class A License to carry Firearms. Candidates must bea citizen of the US. Candidates cannot have been convicted or pled nolocontendre to a felony or job-related crime or a state or federalmisdemeanor involving the use or attempted use of physical force or theuse or threatened use of a firearm. Candidates must possess a validdriver's license. Candidates must pass a background investigation anddrug screening. Candidates must have the ability to complete and passFirst Responder training and Firearms Safety Assessment prior to or uponhire. Candidates must have the ability to complete and pass an annualjob scenario based Physical Assessment Test (PAT) upon hire. Candidatesmust have the ability to work a minimum of two (2) overtime shifts permonth. Language Skills Good command of the English language anddemonstrating excellent verbal and written communication skills.Secondary language is a plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing theduties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk;use hands and fingers to feel, handle, or operate objects, tools, orcontrols; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionallyrequired to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk,hear, and smell. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
