Drafter IV (CAD/AutoCAD Drafter)

Performs drafting work, using a computer, requiring knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures, and techniques. Prepares drawings of structures, mechanical and electrical equipment, piping and duct systems and other similar equipment, systems, and assemblies. Uses recognized systems of symbols, legends, shadings, and lines having specific meanings in drawings. Drawings are used to communicate engineering ideas, designs, and information in support of engineering functions. Essential Job Duties u00b7 Prepares complete sets of unusual complex or original design drawings, which require a high degree of precision and include multiple views, detail drawings, and assembly drawings. Drawings include complex design features that require considerate drafting skill to visualize and portray. Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drafting expertise. u00b7 Uses standard mathematical formulas, on a regular basis, to compute weights, load capacities, dimensions, quantities of materials, etc. u00b7 Determines the most appropriate views, detail drawings and supplemental information needed to complete assignments. Using sketches and verbal information supplied by engineers or planner/estimators. u00b7 Selects required information from precedents, manufactures, catalogs and technical guides. u00b7 Independently resolves most of the problems encountered. Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent. Although working primarily as a drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details. u00b7 Supervision may suggest methods of approach or provide advice on unusually difficult problems. u00b7 Assures that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation, and operation are resolved by the drawing produced. u00b7 Provides advice and guidance to lower-level drafters or serves as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting projects. u00b7 Locate and review existing drawings to help field craft identify panels, circuits, piping, plumbing, and conduit routing for ongoing projects. Other Essential Job Functions u00b7 Maintain regular and punctual attendance. u00b7 Work cooperatively with others. u00b7 Interact with employees and others in the workplace in an appropriate manner. u00b7 Use a computer for task such as communicating by email and preparing reports and work schedules using MS Office software. u00b7 Review, analyze, and manage all Work Control activities using MicroStation, Maintenance Connection (Maximo), and other systems. u00b7 Plan Prioritize, monitor, and manage Work Selection activities. u00b7 Select: Complete / Oversee the completion of assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner. u00b7 Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
