Job Title: Temp. Project Accountant Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Project Accountant responsible for managing client invoicing across a high volume of active projects, including those funded by FDOT. This role involves collections management, project budgeting, and providing support for coding, processing A/P, timesheets, and expense reports. The position requires close collaboration with section leaders and project personnel to ensure timely and accurate delivery of contract performance and financial data, while identifying and resolving billing, budget, and compliance issues. Responsibilities + Take responsibility for client invoicing across a high volume of active projects, including FDOT-funded projects. + Manage collections and project budgeting. + Provide backup support for coding and processing A/P, timesheets, and expense reports. + Prepare, review, and maintain accurate contract documentation, ensuring compliance with FDOT and client requirements. + Partner closely with section leaders and project personnel to deliver timely and accurate contract performance and financial data. + Proactively identify and resolve billing, budget, and compliance issues. + Coordinate and maintain the project accounting system within the department. + Ensure adherence to contractual terms, FDOT regulations, and internal controls. + Support multiple project managers and project teams daily. + Perform additional duties as needed to support department and project objectives. Essential Skills + Experience with FDOT. + Proficiency in MS Office, including Excel (Vlookup, Pivot Tables), Word, and Outlook. + Invoicing, accounts payable, billing, collection, and expense report management. + Project accounting support, high volume invoicing, reconciliation. + Familiarity with Earned Value Management (EVM). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Associate degree in a closely related field or combination of education and relevant experience. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills. + Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. + Collaborative skills to work with various managers in a fast-paced environment. + Self-motivated, well-organized, and detail-oriented. + Ability to handle confidential information. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
