Summary:The Technician II will perform intermediate level repair and maintenance of company tractors and equipment through proper diagnostics, troubleshooting, and use of hand tools. This position will use precision measuring instruments and machine tools with minimum assistance. The Technician II is directed by others with general supervision and must beprovide their own tools.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Rebuild and refurbish equipment as specifiedPerform preventive maintenance inspections as specified, using mechanics hand tools and variety of shop equipment, which may include refrigeration, hydraulic jacks or hoist, welding and air pressure equipment, and other equipment as necessaryDiagnose mechanical problems and perform mechanical repairs and adjustments: PTO, hydraulics, emissions, air conditioning/heating, cab, instruments, brakes, frame, steering, suspension, tires, wheels, drive train, electrical system, engine system, and other components which may need repair with assistanceComplete work orders, charge parts, charge labor, and other required documents using computer, manuals, parts book, and maintenance codesWash equipment as neededDrive service vehicle to pick up parts from outside vendorsDrive vehicles within company propertyAttend all safety required meetings and perform all work as per OSHA, State and Federal guidelinesMay assist in communication with outside vendors, customers, and management to ensure proper workflow, sourcing of outside parts/labor estimates, and status of units within the shopOperate a variety of stationary and portable power tools common to mechanics such as drill presses, grinders, impact wrenches, welders, torchesOpen/close various types of truck hoodsSweep, mop and pick up trash/debris and dispose in dumpsterYard maintenance such as mowing yard, snow removal, etc.Operate pressure washer hoses and utilize long handled brushGlobal Responsibilities:Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this positionThis job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needsQualifications:Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications:High School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate, Vocational, or Technical Degree or equivalent work experience requiredDOT brake certification and 1 year DOT inspections required (prior military must obtain within 3 months of employment)Fundamental knowledge and understanding of the following areas: Diesel engine repair, CNG engine repair, drive train, brakes, suspension, and steering, electrical and electrical systems, HVAC, medium and heavy-duty trick PMI, and emission and after treatmentExperience:3 - 5 years relevant experienceDemonstrated competency of mechanical experience working on a variety of tractors in medium and heavy equipment applications requiredMinimum 1 year DOT inspections requiredSkills/Abilities:Must be able to commit to Revitalize Mixers value statementAbility to meet behavioral expectations and perform in alignment with Revitalize Mixers guiding principles: Safety, People, Relationship, Performance, and QualityPossess an understanding of service manuals (paper and on-line) for reference, procedures, wiring schematics and torque specsProficient in using volt/ohm meter and reading schematics to make proper electrical diagnostics and repairAbility to use diagnostic computer or read and clear fault codes and diagnose and make efficient repairs following troubleshooting treesPositive work attitude and ability to work closely with other technicians, drivers, management, and vendors to solve problems efficientlyWorking Conditions:Must be able to perform job functions under extreme weather conditions and temperaturesMust have manual dexterity and physical agility to be able to spend long hours working beneath a vehicle and lying or standing in awkward positionsWork setting in an automotive garagePotential hazards include dust, diesel, fumes, solvents, oil spills, and electrical equipment within OSHA regulationsWearing proper safety equipment is a shop requirementPhysical Requirements:Ability to access all areas of truck and assume various positions in which to perform workForward bending and/or standingReach up to 24” horizontally at a height of 44” and pull with a force of 100lbPushing/pulling vertically at a height of 47” with a force of 55-100lbKneeling/crouching indoors on a smooth surfaceLying supine on a creeper to access all areas of truck, trailer and tanker and assume various positionsPulling vertically at a height of 80” with a force of 15lbCrawling indoors on a smooth surface for 10ftManually transport heavy truck parts (35lbs to 95lbs) to and from the work areaFront carry up to 95lb for 25ftRight and left-hand coordinationUtilize a variety of hand tools including wrenches, pliers, screwdrivers, and pry bars with right and left-hand grip with a force of 80lbPushing/pulling horizontally and vertically at a self-selected height with a force of 100lbRevitalize Mixers LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
