Job Description An Oil & Gas company located in Downtown Houston is seeking a Python Data Engineer to join its Information Systems department. This group builds and supports software solutions that power real-time operational decision-making across Oil & Gas production environments. The applications developed by this team are used by a wide range of stakeholders, from field engineers to executive leadership. In this role, you will contribute to multiple application projects, partnering closely with front-end engineers, Data Scientists, and Business Analysts/Product Owners to translate business requirements into scalable, high-performing solutions. Key Responsibilities u2003u2022 Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and asynchronous APIs using FastAPI and Flask u2003u2022 Build and integrate services using relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and others u2003u2022 Optimize API performance, reliability, and scalability u2003u2022 Write and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure high-quality, maintainable code u2003u2022 Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend engineers, data scientists, and other technical teams u2003u2022 Containerize and deploy applications using Docker and Kubernetes u2003u2022 Debug and troubleshoot production issues in a real-time environment u2003u2022 Follow software development best practices, including code reviews and CI/CD pipelines Based on knowledge and experience, this position offers an hourly pay rate of $65-75/hr.
