Multi-Axis CNC Machinist Job Description We are seeking a skilled Lead CNC Machinist to join our team on the 3rd shift in Santa Ana, CA. This role involves performing setups and operating various CNC mills, lathes, and manual machines in a production-paced environment. Responsibilities + Set up CNC lathes, mills, manual machines, and inspection equipment for production jobs promptly to support a production-paced environment. + Maintain and update setup procedures for all critical processes. + Work from blueprints, job routings, and tooling instructions to hold close tolerances. + Use computer skills to transfer programs to a variety of CNC machines. + Inspect parts to print, including both dimensional and visual requirements. + Complete all required documentation for the job, including part measurements and shop floor paperwork. + Train and mentor less experienced machinists, especially on machine setup. + Run more than one machine where cycle time permits. + Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills + Experience with CNC Lathe/Mill, specifically with Brother and Haas machines. + Ability to write or edit machine programs. + Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers. + Proficiency in performing light setups. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Open to learning and eager to grow. + Knowledge of manual machines and programming. + Understanding of inspection processes. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a large machine shop with approximately 50 staff members across three buildings dedicated to different production processes. The role is on the 3rd shift from 9:00pm to 5:30am, providing a structured environment for focused and efficient work. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Santa Ana, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
