The Park Supervisor 1 is responsible for:u2022 Supervising park staff engaged in facility maintenance, groundskeeping, visitor services, and seasonal operations.u2022 Coordinating the scheduling and assignment of work, training employees, and evaluating performance. u2022 Assisting with budget preparation, procurement, inventory control, and revenue reporting.u2022 Ensuring compliance with agency policies and safety regulations.u2022 Responding to emergencies, resolving visitor issues, and supporting public programs and events.u2022 Performing hands-on maintenance work and operating light and heavy equipment as needed. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
