Environmental Scientist

Job Title: Environmental Scientist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Scientist to join our team. This role involves a balanced mix of office and fieldwork, focusing on site investigation and remediation projects across New Jersey. The successful candidate will work on diverse projects, including gas/oil projects and industrial sites, under the guidance of experienced professionals. Responsibilities + Conduct site investigations and remediation throughout New Jersey. + Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP). + Write closure and summary reports. + Perform groundwater and soil sampling. + Coordinate schedules for various projects. + Write technical reports. + Evaluate and remediate underground storage tanks (UST). + Conduct field screening of soils and post-remediation soil sampling. + Participate in 50% fieldwork and 50% office work. Essential Skills + Experience in environmental remediation. + Proficiency in soil, groundwater, and air sampling techniques. + Ability to perform technical report writing. + Experience with field procedure manuals for soil, air, and groundwater testing. + Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or a related field. + Minimum of 2 years experience at an environmental consulting firm. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of underground storage tank compliance and environmental compliance. + Understanding of vapor intrusion. + Strong communication skills and a great attitude. + Ability to work well as part of a team. + Familiarity with NJDEP procedures is preferred. Work Environment Our office is located in Middlesex County, operating Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, with overtime available if needed. The team consists of 14 professionals, including scientists, project managers, and licensed site remediation professionals (LSRPs). We offer a hybrid schedule based on experience, providing a close-knit and supportive work environment. A work vehicle is provided for fieldwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piscataway, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $41.00/hr.
