Location: Blythewood, SC Shift: Rotating 12-hour shifts (6:45am-7:00pm and 6:45pm-7:00am) - Days for 2 weeks/ Nights for 2 weeks Pay: $19/hr. Duration: Contract-to-Hire Interview: Manager will be interviewing - Manufacturing experience a must - Experience running machines This position requires the use of Forklift Site is not temperature control PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Operations Technician II is primarily responsible for assisting the lead techs in executing the daily and long-term operations plan. The position also works in partnership with the Supervisor, Operations Manager, TPM teams to develop and execute strong Training and Development (T&D) plans that drive business results. The candidate will support the T&D pillar. This is an essential role as the plant seeks to strengthen the skill sets and core competencies of all employees. The Operations Technician II is responsible for conducting, documenting, and recording training initiatives. He or she will be supporting Lead Tech during the shift and supervising the technician on the production line, up to five technicians. The Operations Technician II perform all functions of the job with specific attention to safe behaviors, environmental stewardship, and report all non-conformities to management JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Safety Support u2022 Follow all safety rules and procedures for the plant. u2022 Follow all lockout procedures. u2022 Follow all safety rules and procedures concerning the handling of all chemicals. u2022 Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) u2022 Support the Safety department in developing, and providing all required training. u2022 Maintain all required certifications and skill sets necessary to train employees Training and Development for all employees u2022 Drive implementation of training plans, creating the plans in partnership with the leadership and as prioritized based on losses u2022 Support New Hire Orientation, assisting with training new employees in TPM Methodology and in helping employee certify in their jobs u2022 Drive cross training activity for employee development u2022 Train employees on Standardized Work, using SharePoint Site for Document Control and Records Management u2022 Coach employees on the One Point Lessons (OPLs) process and on writing them Production Support u2022 Read, understand and follow all Standard Operating Procedures throughout the Plant. Ensure that all training materials are developed and maintained. u2022 Drive the Management of Change process related to Training Package materials such as Standard Work, Skills Matrices, and Training Plans to ensure proper documentation is used for training when changes occur u2022 Support TPM Teams on implementation of TPM the OC Way u2022 Participates in the Safety and Housekeeping programs as established within the plant and work areas u2022 Participates in continuous improvement events u2022 A good understanding of the process equipment used in this facility. u2022 Help in minimizing process downtime. u2022 Monitors the specific KPIu2019s required by the job; reacts to upset conditions and escalates when necessary. u2022 Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the manufacturing process, inputs and outputs (i.e. KMIu2019s in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and staffing). u2022 Understands the needs of the customer and takes action to address those needs. u2022 Helps identify process problems and seeks solutions. u2022 Participates in shift huddles and meetings as required u2022 Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of job as directed by management. u2022 Ability to lead team when Lead Tech is out u2022 Support breaks on shift MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: u2022 High School Degree u2022 Strong understanding of production line u2022 Must be 18 years or older u2022 Must be a US citizen or have the right to work in the US u2022 Must be drug and alcohol free PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: u2022 2 years previous experience in training, continuous improvement and/or in creating standard work u2022 Prior experience with TPM Methodology and processes preferred or 5S u2022 Demonstrated interest/involvement in the coaching and training of others KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: u2022 Must be able to read, write, and speak English u2022 Must have the ability to read and understand Technical Manuals and Specification Sheets u2022 Must possess strong communication and organizational skills u2022 Must have strong internal and external customer service skills u2022 Must work well in team environment u2022 Must be able to create & update Standard Work documents u2022 Must maintain all required certifications and skill sets necessary to train employees u2022 Must have the ability to facilitate training in various formats u2022 Must be self-motivated to work independently and in a group, and meet targets u2022 Must have strong attention to detail u2022 Multiple Certification may be required including Lift truck u2022 Must have good understanding of all company computer system u2022 Must be able to check e-mail, Create, reply to e-mail u2022 Must be able to schedule and create new appointments u2022 Must have the ability to measure and assess the plants training needs u2022 Must be an innovative thinker style of teaching u2022 Must be able embrace efficiency as much as possible u2022 Must have a passion for continuous learning u2022 Must have experience or be willing to shadow the various machines/roles to gain knowledge of plant processes ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT The employee should possess the ability to: u2022 Acceptable background check u2022 Clear health questionnaire provided by Regional Occupational Nurse u2022 Willingness to work flexible hours as needs arise u2022 Ability to walk/stand throughout the plant for extended periods u2022 Routinely ascend and descend stairs to enter work areas u2022 Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) u2013 (goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for task u2022 Operate equipment only when trained in its use and/or are working with or under the direction of a qualified employee As part of our promise to talent, Kelly supports those who work with us through a variety of benefits, perks, and work-related resources.
