Jacobs is looking for on-call archaeologists to work on a variety of projects throughout Colorado, Wyoming, and other surrounding western states. This position involves providing cultural resources support for planning, engineering, and construction services to renewable energy, government, military, transportation, and commercial clients.The archaeologist career path provides the opportunity to work on projects that require compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Native American Graves Repatriation and Protection Act (NAGPRA), and state regulations. All work will be conducted under the guidance of senior cultural resources staff.The ideal candidate will have a B.A. in anthropology with experience working in Colorado as well as Wyoming and other adjacent states, experience in conducting archaeological surveys and construction monitoring, including mapping, data recording, site documentation, and photography, and conducting archaeological monitoring. Other qualifications include excellent writing and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, and technological proficiency that includes some experience working with GIS and relational databases.Frequent travel is expected for the position. It is imperative that candidates be able to work 8-to-10-hour days in a variety of conditions and understand that there could be frequent stays away from the office.We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work. u2022 At least a bacheloru2019s degree in Anthropology/Archaeology/CRM.u2022 Minimum of 3+ years of all phases of professional archaeological field work experience.u2022 Experience in construction monitoring and collaborating with tribal monitors.u2022 Knowledge of historic preservation laws and policies, including NEPA, NHPA, ARPA, and NAGPRA.u2022 Familiarity with state regulations and cultural resources policies for Colorado, Wyoming or adjacent states.u2022 Experience using GPS technology.u2022 Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.u2022 Excellent oral and written communication skills.u2022 Must be capable of walking for long periods of time over unfamiliar terrain, excavating shovel tests and test units, screening soil, and carrying field equipment.u2022 Must be willing and able to travel frequently and for long periods of time, as needed.u2022 Must be motivated and able to work safely with minimum supervision.u2022 Experience and comfort in working independently in the field and office.Preferred Qualifications:u2022 5+ years of experience.u2022 Experience in conducting research, literature reviews, and cartographic reviews.u2022 Experience writing sections of compliance reports, completing site forms, or artifact analysis.u2022 Experience working in a CRM environment.u2022 Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and be responsive to both internal and external clients.Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
