This patient-friendly facility offers a variety of primary care, emergencycareand specialty services along with Lifestyles, a medicallybased fitness program and facility.Stow Health and Wellness Center is looking to add an Aquatics Instructor to its team of caregivers.The Aquatics Instructor is primarily responsible for implementing all aquatic programs by promoting a friendly, safe, and sanitary environment for the natatorium patrons. You will teach learn-to-swim classes, assume lifeguardingdutiesand implement special programs.Group lessons may take up to five hours per week, while private lessons may take up to twenty hours per week.This isa great opportunityfor an individual who is interested in working ona strong teamandpossibly becominga lifeguard.APRNcaregiver in this position works varying shifts between 6:00AM - 10:30PM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Develop a personal working schedule, with the Manager of Center Activities/Programs, to ensure that continuous aquatic staff coverage ismaintainedduring all open pool times.Design a pool program schedule with the Manager that offers a wide variety of programs reflecting patrons' needs and wishes and the diverseexpertiseof aquatic staff.Design special staff and patron in-services, training,workshopsand clinics, with the aquatic manager, to be offered regularly (monthly) that would promote aquatics for fitness, leisure, health,safetyand wellness.Implement special programs withinareaof expertise, such as competitive swimming, synchronized swimming, boating safety, snorkeling/SCUBA diving, etc.Assume the lead role for all teaching,lifeguardingand maintenance duties when other lifeguards are on duty.Keep up with industry trends and networks with industry colleagues.Keep certifications current.Knowall Emergency Action Plans anddemonstratethose skills during in-services and drills.Assistwith administrative duties such as payroll, monthly statisticalreportsand MOD shifts.Attend and positively contribute to weekly meetings and all mandatory training and in-services.Work withthe aquaticsdepartment to continually assess aquatic programs and servicesin order topromoteLifeStylesas a world-class facility.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School graduate orthe equivalentCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross for the Professional RescuerFirst aid and Red Cross Lifeguard trainingRed Cross Water Safety Instructor certification within six months of employment andmaintaincurrency thereafterExperience in at least one aquatic specialty area (petitive swimming, synchronized swimming, snorkeling/SCUBAdiving,small craft etc.)Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Associate’s orBachelor's Degreein Exercise Physiology, AthleticTrainingor related fieldWater Safety Instructor (WSI) or willingness to obtain itwithinone year of hirePrior instructor experiencePersonal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as requiredPay RangeMinimum hourly: $15.75Maximum hourly: $21.65The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires.
