Idaho Transportation Department is recruiting for two (2) Temporary Transportation Technicians in District 1, Coeur d’Alene/Plummer , Idaho. These temporary positions will provide support to keep our highways safe and clear. Idaho Transportation Department is seeking individuals who are hardworking and interested in seasonal employment. These individuals need to be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as with a team to provide a high-quality service. Incumbents are required to work in all weather conditions, under hazardous conditions, on obstructed roads and congested highways, in considerable noise, around operating equipment, and with hazardous materials. This position is non-benefited and could work up to 40 hours per week for up to 5 months. Example of Duties This position will focus on traffic control/flagging but could also include: + Operating a shadow vehicle safely + Working near chemicals and toxic materials + Perform entry-level technical highway maintenance work + Some data entry as needed for diary, time entry etc. + May operate a variety of power tools and light and heavy highway equipment to maintain roadways, signs, bridges, and other transportation facilities + Perform entry-level traffic services activities such as replacing and repairing traffic signs and posts + Vegetation and/or litter removal from highway + Performs related work as required The Idaho Transportation Department will provide the necessary training; however, hourly pay rates will be determined based on prior flagging experience. 0 to 2 seasons = $21.05 2.1 - 3.9 seasons = $22.60 4-5 seasons = $24.14 6 + seasons = $25.83 Essential Function An essential function of this position is driving an ITD vehicle.
