No County Monroe Street Address 620 Westfall Road City Rochester State NY Zip Code 14620 Duties Description The Speech-Language Pathologist for the Intensive Treatment Option (ITO) will provide speech therapy service provision to 39 adult Persons Receiving Services with Intellectual and Developmental Disability residing within the ITO. The selected candidate will be supervised by the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Supervisor 2. Responsibilities: u2022 Collaborate with and serve as a member of the interdisciplinary team within the ITO setting; participates in meetings, presents clinical information and observations, and provides consultation, training, and assistance to staff in other disciplines. u2022 Conduct Speech-Language assessments in accordance with OPWDD, New York State Department of Health, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, and other third-party regulations. u2022 Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop the interdisciplinary Comprehensive Functional Assessment and Comprehensive Care Plan for each individual residing in the ITO. ?Assess individuals with communication and swallowing disorders; develop and implement individualized Speech Therapy Plans of Care as appropriate; recommend appropriate communication modalities and/or strategies, diet consistencies, safe swallowing strategies and dining techniques, as needed. u2022 Provide Speech or Dysphagia Therapy, within an individual or group setting, in accordance with an established Speech Therapy Plan of Care. u2022 Participate in discharge planning as needed. u2022 Provide consultation and/or training in communication, dysphagia, choking prevention, and aspiration. u2022 Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation in compliance with OPWDD, New York State Department of Health, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services and other third-party payor standards. u2022 Comply with all OPWDD, New York State Department of Health, Federal, State and Local regulations, policies, and procedures. u2022 Maintains NYS Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist. u2022 Additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor. u2022 Travel as necessary with reimbursement. NYS driveru2019s license is required. u2022 Position will require adjusting your schedule to meet the needs of the ITO unit. SHIFT/PASS DAYS: Day & Evening rotation (2 shifts on evenings / 3 shifts days with one weekend day)Day shift: 8:00am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5:00pmEvening shift: 10:30am-7:00pm or 11:00am-7:30pmChoice of: Sunday-Thursday (pass days Fri/Sat) Or Tuesday-Saturday (pass days Sun/Mon)(To be determined at time of offer)#LI-KB1 Minimum Qualifications Open Competitive: possession of a license and current registration as a Speech Language Pathologist in New York State or certification in Speech Language Pathology by ASHA.Transfer:Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment. This means that you do not need to take an exam to qualify, but you do need to meet the minimum qualifications of the title.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), employees hired under NY HELPS are expected to have their permanent non-competitive employment status converted to permanent competitive status. You will not have to take an exam to gain permanent competitive status.u2022 Please note that starting salary for this title reflects the geographic pay differential. Posted Hiring Salary includes the sum of the statutory hiring rate for PS&T Grade 20 ($74,193) and Geographic Pay Differential ($4,000). Geographic Pay Differential is also added to the job rate ($94,121).u2022 If you are currently a New York State employee serving in a permanent competitive qualifying title and eligible for a transfer via Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law, you may be appointed to this title as a permanent competitive employee.u2022 The assignment of PS&T employees will be made in accordance with any agreed upon Memorandum of Understanding between PEF and the local DDSO regarding the posting of job vacancies.u2022 Preference will be given to OPWDD employees impacted by closures.
