Job Summary The Engineer - Water Quality is responsible fordeveloping creative and cost effective solutions for a wide range ofenvironmental issues. The position involves leading projects toimplement the company's environmental strategy, advocacy, policydevelopment, compliance programs and underlying regulatory requirements(enterprise wide or client specific), either independently or as amember of a team. The individual must be able to interface with alllevels of management and represented personnel and be able tocommunicate effectively with internal and external customers,consultants and regulators. This position requires a sound overallknowledge of local, state and federal environmental regulations, and theutility industry. Job Responsibilities Obtaining NPDES permits andapprovals, implementing permit requirements, and submitting dischargemonitoring reports for facilities. Conducting permitting and licensingactivities necessary to gain governmental agency approvals to constructand operate electric and gas distribution systems, electric generatingfacilities, renewable energy facilities, and gas storage facilities.Ensuring compliance with storage tank requirements and spill prevention,control, and countermeasure plan requirements across the corporation.Work assignments will include periodic coverage, including emergencyresponse or planned off-hours work.
