Job Description Location: Chicago, Illinois Hospital: Rush University Medical Center Department: Bariatric Surgery - Work Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) Minimally Invasive & Bariatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider Rush University Medical Center Chicago, IL Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Minimally Invasive (MIS) & Bariatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP). This provider will function independently in their own clinic supporting our growing abdominal wall reconstruction practice (complex general surgery), in addition to providing post-op and follow-up support for other general surgery & bariatric surgery programs at Rush University Medical Center. Department/division specs u00b7 Practice alongside seven MIS & Bariatric surgeons and one fellow APP Duties & Responsibilities: u00b7 Five, 8-hour dayshifts/week u00b7 No weekends, no call u00b7 Report directly to the Department of Surgery Lead APP u00b7 Inpatient, outpatient and OR Preferred Qualifications: u00b7 Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in bariatric surgery or related field is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered. u00b7 APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification. Position Requirements: Nurse Practitioner: + Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process + Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position + Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) + CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications Physician Assistant: + Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process + Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program + Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants + CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.
