Summary Do you have experience in chemotherapy infusion and are looking for a rewarding career in oncology? If so, we invite you to join our team. We're seeking a RN to deliver high quality and evidence-based care to oncology patients and their families. The RN oversees the administration and management of various medical procedures and treatments, including, but not limited to antineoplastic treatments, immunotherapy treatments, blood product administration, and therapeutic phlebotomy. Responsibilities The VA Midwest Health Care Network advocates for a Whole Health System of care in each of the Medical Centers. The Chemotherapy Infusion Clinic Registered Nurse duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Oversees the administration and management of various medical procedures and treatments in the infusion setting, including, but not limited to antineoplastic treatments, immunotherapy treatments, blood product administration, and therapeutic phlebotomy Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on patient education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care. Administers medications and procedures. Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team. Completes physiological assessments and completes documentation in the electronic health record. Triages patient problems and assists in the evaluation of symptoms and initiates interventions in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Preferred Experience: 2 years chemotherapy infusion experience Work Schedule: Adhoc/intermittent. Work is sporadic and unpredictable so that a tour of duty may not be regularly scheduled in advance. Expected availability for this position is (2), 8-hour shifts per biweekly pay period. Additional hours may be scheduled as needed. Typical hours may be expected to work are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Telework: Not available Virtual: This is not a virtual position. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
