We've been an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, digital photo claims and, more recently, device and identity protection.As part of Allstate Investments' Tax Credit & Impact Investments team, the candidate will be supporting the underwriting, analysis, execution, and ongoing asset management of lowu2011income housing and clean energy tax credit investment strategies. The candidate will work closely with senior investment staff across a wide range of responsibilities, including financial modeling, due diligence, transaction evaluation, portfolio monitoring, and the preparation of investment approval materials. They will engage regularly with internal partnersu2014such as tax, accounting, and legal teamsu2014as well as external fund sponsors and stakeholders to gather market intelligence, manage consent processes, and support annual tax credit budgeting and reporting requirements. The role also contributes to broader impact and ESG initiatives, including Sustainability Report disclosures, system and reporting enhancements, and exploration of new credit opportunities. The position is based in Chicago, IL and will be in the office 3 days per week. Limited travel will be required.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport senior investment staff in the underwriting, analysis and execution of transactions.Gather/maintain market intelligence through regular communication with existing sponsors and potential new relationshipsReview investment fund opportunities brought by existing and potential new sponsors for discussion with portfolio managerComplete investment recommendation selection and due diligence of investment opportunitiesPrepare investment approval recommendation and due diligence material of investmentsAssess and prepare approval recommendation of annual tax credit budgetingManage internal relationships with tax and accounting as well as internal/external legal counselReview and coordinate approval of fund consent requestsCompile quarterly portfolio monitoring of investment performanceAnnual review of LIHTC portfolio exposure at property level and completion of fund benefit schedule projection updatesIdentify and assist in implementation of internal system reporting and portfolio monitoring improvementsSupport of Sustainability Report disclosures and KPIsIntegration of LIHTC, Clean energy & other credits into risk-return and economic capital frameworksResearch potential expansion to other types of creditsAd-hoc assistance on ESG integration efforts and due diligence on real estate-related impact opportunitiesAssist in special projects from time to time that support the teamEducation and Experience Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience; May also have an advanced degree and/or CFA3+ years' experience of related experience, including investing or structuring investing in: LIHTC, Tax credit or Real EstateSupervisory Responsibilities This job does not have supervisory duties.Certification, Licenses, Registrations No Certification, License or Registration is required for the jobFunctional Skills Advanced/superior analytical and financial modeling skills, with an emphasis on the ability to translate analytical observations into supportable conclusionsAdvanced verbal and written communication skills u2013 ability to communicate investment thesis in a balanced and concise mannerAbility to interact effectively and professionally with a wide variety of internal constituents as well as effectively represent Allstate to external stakeholdersDetail oriented with a commitment to high quality work productAbility to think independently and assist in presenting a viewpoint in a thoughtful and professional mannerProactively communicates with managers to prioritize and optimize deliverables.
