This position performs the inspection, maintenance, modification, and repair of electrical systems and equipment control circuits including electrical, electronic, pneumatic systems, and signal devices.This facility operates a T5 rated100-mgd potable water treatment plant using combined submerged membrane filtration, ozone disinfection, advanced oxidation, and biological activated carbon to meet strict water quality standards for the San Diego metropolitan area. At its completion in April 2008, it was, and continues to be, one of the largest water treatment plants using membrane filtration in the world.Bring your team-focus, adaptability, and commitment to excellence, and we’ll help you grow what drives you - and deliver the world’s most challenging Operations Management projects, together.#omfs #ourjacobs #biaEssential Duties and Responsibilities:•Performs a variety of skilled, technical duties in the development, installation, modification and maintenance process control and supervisory control systems. Schedules and coordinates activities with other staff; ensures the timely and accurate completion of preventive maintenance activities; performs project management on special projects and keeps information updated.•Tests, troubleshoots, calibrates, programs and performs preventive maintenance on a variety of complex electrical and electronic instruments and devices, including softstart/hardstart motor controls and variable frequency drives, networking equipment, and instrumentation systems, components and devices associated with the operation of a large, state-of-the-art potable water treatment plant.•Installs, maintains, repairs and calibrates a wide variety of electronic recording and indicating instruments such as differential pressure flow meters, sonic flow meters, pressure and temperature recorders, signal conversion modules, level sensing devices and valve actuator controllers.•Repairs and replaces defective electrical and electronic parts in motors, controllers, conductors, switches and other industrial electrical devices or equipment; makes additions, extensions and modifications in electrical systems; installs, maintains and repairs electromechanical, electronic and electrical components.•Installs conduits, conductors, wires, pull boxes, switchboards, controllers and switches required in making addit?ions, extensions or alterations in electrical systems; installs motors, controls, trans-formers and generators.•Installs, troubleshoots, updates and repairs equipment for fiber optic communication systems, IP-based networked camera systems and office telephone extension wiring, devices, and termination equipment.•Disconnects electrical sources, approves lockout/tagout procedures to block electrical sources; reconnects and operates equipment for maintenance purposes.•Interprets and works from blueprints, drawings, sketches, plans and technical documents.•Maintains the record keeping associated with all electrical repairs and modifications.•Recommends control system modifications with documented justification that will result in standard utilization of parts and materials and will reduce operating and repair costs.•Establishes and enforces uniform electrical repair safety procedures at plant site.•Makes modifications to as-built electrical drawings based on system modifications and updates all electrical component equipment history files.•Creates work orders to perform daily tasks using MAXIMO CMMS software package and track work performed and inventory used on a per job basis.•Configure new computers out of the box to be accepted onto the domain and install all necessary software packages for PLC programming and HMI/SCADA monitoring and control.•Consults with vendors and contractors regarding new construction and equipment installations related to electrical or electronic instrumentation systems.•May perform the duties of a plant mechanic under the supervision of the maintenance department lead.•Responds to emergency situations as necessary, including those occurring after normal working hours.•Establishes and maintains cooperative relationship with those contacted during the course of work. Here's what you'll need •Valid California Driver’s License•High School Diploma or GED•Four years of experience dealing with the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical and electronic control systems.•Knowledge of:oIndustrial automation and control systems including SCADA, PLCs and motor controls.oSingle and three phase AC and DC electrical power systems.oMethods, materials, equipment and instruments used in the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical and electronic control systems.oNetworking schemes and understanding of IP network architectures.oBest practices of an effective control system preventive maintenance program.oElectrical and electronic shop procedures, practices and mathematics.oSafety practices and regulations pertaining to the work.oWindows-based computers, computer hardware and common business applications related to the work.Ideally, You’ll Also Have:•Associates Degree or higher•Experience dealing with the maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical control systems in a water or wastewater facility•Demonstrated knowledge in MAXIMO CMMS, SCADA, Windows, Allen Bradley PLC’s, Wonderware, and Devicenet•Experience with Allen Bradley PLC’s, Wonderware Controls Software, and Devicenet Control Systems•Computer networks, operating systems and client-server applications and the understanding and ability to troubleshoot problems.•Configuring, programming, diagnosing and support of software-based industrial devices including: PLC ladder logic programming; process instruments, actuators and adjustable speed drives.Working Conditions:Safety is a core value at Jacobs.
