Check out our Facebook page to learn more about us!Job Summary:The primary function of this role is to administer human resource policies, ensure legal compliance, support leaders in employee relations matters, coordinate recruiting and onboarding processes, and serve as liaison between the organization and the parent company’s HR and benefits functions. This role focuses on operational execution, risk management, and consistent workforce practices that support business stability and performance.Key Results Areas (KRAs):1. Support Effective Employee Relations, Leader Accountability and High-Performance CultureProvide counsel and coaching to leaders on employee relations mattersAssist leaders in managing the people impact of organizational changesSupport leaders in performance management and documentation practicesAdminister the Coaching & Development System (CDS) for performance managementConduct and document 1-to-1 discussions with direct reports at least quarterlyConduct exit interviews and identify trends that inform workforce practices2. Ensure Compliance & Mitigate Organizational RiskAdminister federal and state Family & Medical Leave (FMLA)Report and administer worker’s compensation claimsAdminister return-to-work process after illness or injuryOversee OSHA reporting and injury recordkeepingEnsure leaders are aware of, and comply with employment laws and company policiesWrite, maintain and update company policies and employee acknowledgementsEnsure adherence to HR records retention requirementsComply with CDL/DOT requirementsSupport wage review process and provide compensation data as needed3. Lead Team Member Recruiting, Onboarding & Retention Recruit for open positions; assist with candidate selection; prepare and present offersCoach leaders on how to maintain and update job descriptionsLead onboarding process and new hire orientationAssist leaders with team member development and training opportunities4. Maintain Workforce Administration & HR Operations. Maintain accurate personnel records and HR systemsCoordinate temporary staffing administration as neededReconcile HR-related vendor invoices (background checks, drug testing, etc.)Liaise with parent company HR for benefits administration supportServe as employee resource for benefits navigation and annual enrollment communicationCoordinate required compliance and training documentationProvide backup support for payroll administration, as needed; may assume primary responsibility in the future5. Actively Engage in Continuous Improvement (CI) & SafetyLead Safety and Continuous Improvement teamsFollow all safety policies and proceduresMaintain a clean and orderly 6S work areaContinuously focus on expanding knowledgeOther Job Duties:Participate in internal and enterprise HR-related meetings as appropriateMember of Suttle-Straus Safety CommitteeParticipate in Peer Group HR & Compliance meetingsDevelop and maintain SharePoint content for Home Page and HR siteLead team member recognition (e.g. Core Values in Action, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Service Awards)Conduct annual Culture Survey, compile & present results, identify trendsMinimum five years of professional HR experience with progressive responsibilitiesStrong knowledge of employment law and HR complianceDemonstrated ability to manage confidential matters with sound judgmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to coach and support operational leaders effectivelyOrganized and detail-oriented with strong documentation practicesSHRM-CP or PHR certification preferredBachelor’s degree required
