Do you bring a minimum of 10 years managing large-scale projects, including at least 3 years within higher education facilities, and enjoy guiding complex design and construction programs?MBP is looking for a Project Manager to support architectural/building design and construction projects for York County Community College in South Carolina. The ideal candidate offers a minimum of ten years of experience on large-scale projects, with at least three years at a higher education facility, and is ready to contribute to a multi‑year program with project contract values up to $50M.What You'll Do:Lead project delivery for campus architectural and building programs across a multi‑year capital effort. Serve as a primary point of contact, providing guidance on scope, schedule, and budget while coordinating with stakeholders to support project objectives. Provide design oversight and recommendations, support decision-making within established parameters, and represent MBP in client interactions to facilitate successful outcomes. Responsibilities include:Manage consultants and contractors across multiple projectsProvide design oversight from planning through deliverySupport procurement activities and related documentationMonitor construction and provide oversight for quality, schedule, and budget targetsCoordinate tenants, business partners, and York County Community College departmentsAnalyze and interpret technical data, reports, specifications, and engineering and architectural plans for facilities at a commercial air carrier airportPrepare, evaluate, monitor, and maintain complex operating budgets and capital program budgetsPlan, organize, and direct work on complex projects involving building infrastructure and systems; promote consensus and negotiate favorable outcomesResearch current and future trends to establish programs for existing and new buildingsCreate and meet schedules and deadlinesUnderstand and carry out oral and written directionsOrganize and maintain paper documents and electronic files accuratelyMaintain confidentiality of information and professional boundaries Who We Are Looking ForExperience:Minimum of ten years of experience on large-scale projectsAt least 3 years at a higher education facilityMulti‑project program context at York County Community College in South Carolina, with up to $50M in project contract value over the next ten yearsEducation/Knowledge:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a construction-related field (required)Licensed Architect or Engineer desirable but not requiredAdvanced understanding of drawings and specificationsDeveloping or rehabilitating building infrastructures and systemsPreferred Certifications:OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification (must possess or obtain within 3 months of hire)LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) certification (preferred)Project Management certification (desired but not required)Skills and Abilities:Project planning and budgetingProject management best practicesRules, regulations, codes, and guidelines related to building construction and renovations, including fire, electric, energy, utilities, disabilities, egress, elevators, escalators, stairs, and associated permitsAbility to work at a Higher Education environmentPrinciples and practice of public sector management and administration of airport policies and proceduresIndustry standard building specifications and codesDesign, construction, and/or maintenance of building components and finishes; electrical and lighting systems; HVAC systems; potable water and sanitary sewage (gravity and forced main systems); fire alarm and fire protection systems; utilities and communication systemsEnglish grammar, spelling, punctuationPrinciples and practices of basic bookkeepingModern office procedures, methods, and computer equipmentOrganization and time managementInterpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationshipsPerforming a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different naturePerforming basic mathematical functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, and ratiosAssigning, prioritizing, monitoring, and reviewing work assignmentWhat We Offer:We’re focused on providing the tools and support you need to succeed, both personally and professionally.
