Description Robert Half is working with a leading non profit in South San Francisco. The HR Generalist plays a key role in delivering comprehensive human resources support across a wide range of functions, including benefits and leave administration, accommodations, workersu2019 compensation, compliance, reporting, compensation, and core HR operations. This position requires a strong understanding of California and federal employment laws, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion. The HR Generalist partners closely with employees, managers, and HR team members to ensure accurate, timely, and empathetic service delivery that supports a positive employee experience. Key Responsibilities Benefits & Leave Administration + Administer day-to-day employee leave programs, ensuring accurate and timely processing of all leave types (CFRA, FMLA, PDL, PWFA, etc.) + Serve as a resource to employees and managers on leave policies, procedures, and wage replacement programs + Partner with managers to evaluate and coordinate reasonable accommodation requests in compliance with FEHA/ADA + Maintain ongoing communication with employees regarding leave status, benefit premiums, and disability or bonding claims + Respond to and resolve complex benefits and leave inquiries, escalating issues as needed + Support open enrollment, benefits education, and new hire onboarding processes + Provide back-up support to Benefits & Leave Specialists to ensure continuity of service + Ensure compliance with internal policies and all applicable employment regulations Employee Experience & Relations + Serve as a trusted HR resource by responding to employee questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner + Facilitate bi-monthly new hire orientations; maintain and update materials to ensure accuracy and compliance + Participate in exit interviews and analyze feedback to identify trends and opportunities for improvement + Support employee engagement, wellness, and retention initiatives HR Operations & Projects + Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of job descriptions across the organization + Contribute to cross-functional HR initiatives focused on process improvement, compliance, and employee experience + Generate and analyze HR metrics and reports, including turnover and headcount, to support data-driven decisions + Support audits, compliance reporting, and other departmental projects as needed Requirements Qualifications + Bacheloru2019s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification preferred + Minimum of 2 years of HR Generalist experience in California or equivalent hands-on HR experience; nonprofit or highly regulated environment preferred + Experience administering benefits and leave programs in a high-volume environment + Working knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including CFRA, FMLA, PDL, PSL, FEHA/ADA, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, and PWFA + Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and sound judgment + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS/HCM systems (UKG Ready experience is a plus) + Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy + Ability to work a hybrid schedule, including two onsite days per week in South San Francisco TalentMatchu00ae Robert Half is the worldu2019s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
