Bookkeeper

Description We are looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team in Orinda, California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a vital role in maintaining the financial operations of a non-profit organization. This role involves handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting payroll and billing processes. Responsibilities: u2022 Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payment of bills. u2022 Manage tuition billing and payment collection using the organizationu2019s billing system. u2022 Deposit checks electronically and maintain organized records of paper receipts. u2022 Record financial transactions and reconcile credit card charges using QuickBooks. u2022 Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure balanced accounts. u2022 Assist with payroll tasks, including gathering employee timecards and managing spreadsheet data. u2022 Support tax-related activities such as 990 returns and tracking 1099 forms. u2022 Set up and maintain tuition payment schedules for the upcoming fiscal year. u2022 Provide manual bookkeeping assistance as needed to ensure smooth financial operations. Requirements u2022 At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably within a non-profit setting. u2022 Proficiency in QuickBooks and familiarity with account reconciliation processes. u2022 Knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable procedures. u2022 Ability to work independently and maintain high attention to detail. u2022 Comfortable using billing systems and learning new financial tools. u2022 Basic understanding of payroll processes, with a willingness to adapt and learn. u2022 Strong organizational skills to manage multiple financial tasks efficiently.
