Based in community settings, within a program, and working closely with our clinical staff to support therapeutic and behavioral plans, DSPs provide assistance and strategies to the individuals we serve to live as independently as possible. + Provide one-on-one positive and friendly companionship while doing outings in the community - activities include things like going out to eat, museums, movies, run errands, going to local parks, and other recreational activities the individual is interested in + Transportation and support out in the community: outings/field trips, medical appointments, and shopping + Provide guidance on a range of developmental goals from community participation, social skills, household budgeting, exercise, nutrition, and supporting vocational responsibilities + Assist individuals we serve to redirect agitated or aggressive behaviors _Qualifications:_ + High School Diploma or GED + Must be minimum of 18 years of age + Six months of experience working directly with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities _preferred_ + Valid CA driveru2019s license in good standing (no exceptions) + Access to a reliable vehicle with proof of valid insurance and registration + Successful clearance of background checks + A reliable, responsible attitude and a compassionate approach and a commitment to quality in everything you do + Availability we are looking for: generally between 2pm and 9pm on weekdays and during the daytime on weekends _Why Join Us?_ + Position is part-time, about 20 hours average per week, possibility to get more hours may open up +
