As part of our Commercial Underwriter Onboarding and Risk Education (CORE) development program, youu2019ll gain an experience of a lifetime. Our 22-week program begins in July and includes self-directed and virtual classroom learning sessions. Whatu2019s more, youu2019ll get on-the-job work experience as well as integrated sales training with support from your mentor and manager to round out your Commercial Underwriting experience. After the formal program concludes, youu2019ll have the knowledge to begin a formal career here, with us behind you every step of the way. This role will allow for a hybrid work schedule working three days in the office and two days from home. Weu2019ll Be a Good Match if You Have: u00b7 A customer-first mindset, putting our customers at the center of everything you do u00b7 A passion for making decisions through both analyzing data and employing critical thinking skills u00b7 A team spirit and desire to work collaboratively u00b7 A financial mindset to help make the best decisions u00b7 Ability to own your work and following through on commitments u00b7 Ability to decipher and execute within a fluid and changing business environment u00b7 An understanding of how to build relationships and trust among diverse groups Qualifications: u00b7 Bacheloru2019s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and Insurance experience u00b7 Up to 3 years of Insurance experience preferred u00b7 Excellent written and interpersonal communication and presentation skills u00b7 Ability to think analytically about business problems, make recommendations, and propose solutions u00b7 Possession of resilience and an entrepreneurial spirit u00b7 Demonstration of solid time, organizational, and desk management skills u00b7 Goal oriented with a strong desire to deliver outcomes in timely manner u00b7 Acts with a sense of urgency and is responsive to internal and external customer needs u00b7 Strong sales skills with the ability to negotiate and sell all messages including with those that may be difficult u00b7 Challenge the status quo to implement improvement and compete to win u00b7 A valid driveru2019s license is required, as use of a company pool car will be necessary for periodic travel u00b7 Demonstrates satisfactory progress during the Training Program and achieve passing scores on all tests, case studies, and foundational underwriting assessments u00b7 Potential to travel during training may exist Compensation The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartfordu2019s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
