Yes County Broome Street Address 1679 NY Rte. 11 City Kirkwood State NY Zip Code 13795 Duties Description This Division of Operations position will have a variety of duties for both the Kirkwood regional sub-office and DEC Region 7 as a whole. These duties include:u2022 Conduct field surveys of DEC facilities and construction projects.u2022 Oversee maintenance and construction projects being performed by DEC staff and contractors and ensure adherence to project scope, BMPs being followed, etc.u2022 Prepare reports, CAD drawings, construction estimates, and other technical documents.u2022 Work with Division of Water Flood Control engineers to modify and update O&M policies and procedures.u2022 Assist Central Office Operations staff with technical requests throughout Region 7.u2022 Assist with regional infrastructure work orders and other Operations database entries.u2022 Compile and submit regional annual reports such as MS4, EO4/EO18/EO22, environmental audit, etc. u2022 Assist with operation and maintenance of R7 flood control projects as needed, including potential emergency response during high water events.u2022 May be required to carry equipment while preforming fieldwork. Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title may be filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date, it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State.
