Entry Level Surveyor

Job Description Essential functions and responsibilities include: + Transmits survey data to proper files in the computer network and acquire data for field use; + Accurately and efficiently clears line, establish points, tape, chain and level for field survey projects as assigned by Crew Chief; + Keep crew's assigned vehicle clean, properly maintained, and stocked with the necessary equipment and supplies as instructed by the Crew Chief. Report any mechanical or safety related problems to the Crew Chief; + Load for transportation, clean and store field surveying equipment used by the crew; + Communicate and coordinate effectively with other crew members to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects; + Observe all safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when working around traffic or on active construction sites; + Accurately identify the various types of trees encountered while performing field survey work; + Assist in the training of entry level rodmen as requested; + Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey; + Stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as well as lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds. + When supporting SUE work, they will perform heavy labor including using a jack hammer, digging, setting up site, driving company vehicle and site clean-up. Qualifications + Must be capable of and have experience performing physical work in the Florida elements (heat, bugs, snakes, spiders, etc.) for 10-hour days. + Must be willing to travel out of town during the week. + Must be reliable and motivated to work hard, learn and progress in their career. + Must have the aptitude to learn the survey industry, with good basic math skills, and the ability to communicate affectively (verbal and written). + Prefer candidates with experience in survey, construction, landscaping, or another transferable trade. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr.
