Job Title: Electrical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Florida. The role involves designing, analyzing, and reviewing power systems, including electrical schematics and load calculations for municipal water and wastewater system-related projects. Responsibilities + Prepare technical documents, system modeling, and oversee construction projects. + Ensure compliance with industry standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams. + Provide innovative solutions tailored to client needs. + Function as the Designer/Project Engineer on projects involving medium and low voltage power distribution systems, lighting systems, and grounding systems for Municipal Water and Wastewater facilities and Industrial Projects. + Develop design details for electrical power distribution system (480V level), lighting system, and control system for major industrial facilities. + Perform system calculations and studies for electrical power systems, including load flows, voltage drops, and short circuit/coordination studies using electrical analytical software such as E-Tap/SKM Tools. + Coordinate with CAD Drafters to create new or modify existing drawings. + Perform field investigation and condition assessment of electrical power distribution and control equipment. + Contribute to enhancing project efficiency and executing cost-effective strategies for impactful results. Essential Skills + Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) + 1+ years of design and engineering experience for industrial or large complex commercial projects. + Experience with electrical power distribution, control equipment, and condition assessment. + Proven expertise in power system design, electrical schematics, and system analysis. + Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel software. + Proficiency in industry-relevant software, tools, and system modeling applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Water/Wastewater experience is a plus. + Working knowledge of standards and codes pertaining to electrical distribution and control systems. + Preliminary knowledge of instrumentation devices (level/pressure/temp/flow) preferred. + Effective communication skills u2013 verbal and writing. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. + Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. + Professional Engineer (PE) license or commitment to obtaining one is preferred. Work Environment The company culture is casual and informal. Employees are given the freedom to complete their tasks while receiving support as needed. The team in South Florida is small, with flexibility in hours for production positions. The role requires being in the Ft. Lauderdale office four days a week, with the option to work from home on Fridays. Meetings in the Tri County Area may occur 1-2 times per month. The company has a strong presence in South Florida and opportunities to work on high-profile projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $48.08/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
