Housing Manager , Un i versity of Miami Pre- C ollege (8 positions) Pre-College Housing Manager will join the University of Miami Pre-College team, which is responsible for administering the Summer Scholars three-week credit program and UM Academies two-week non-credit program. As an integral member of the senior Pre-College leadership team, Housing Manager ACUHO-I interns will report to the Director and assist in the day-to-day management and administration of the residential program, while maintaining a regular on-campus presence during the summer program. University of Miami Pre-College seeks eight Pre-College Housing Manager for Summer 2026. + 5 intern positions open for the Summer Scholars Program: June 15 to July 17 (5 weeks) + 3 intern positions open for the UM Academies: June 15 to July 17 (5 weeks) POSI T ION DESCRIPTION: Leadership & M anage m ent + W o rk as a member of the University o f M iami Pre-C o llege team; f os ter t he co n ditions f or a s tr o ng campus co m mun i ty. + Supervise and mentor Pre-College Leaders (PCLs), ensuring accountability, professionalism, and effective support to students. + Conduct daily check-ins with PCLs and facilitate staff meetings. + Participate in student move-in and move-out; oversee community-building and orientation activities. + Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for a diverse student body. + As s ists with r o om cha n ges, la te c heck-in a nd e a rly c h eck-o u t, communic a t e s a nd foll o ws up on facilit ie s is s ues, a nd s ubmits appl i cable rep o rts in a timely ma nner. + P a rticipate in 'on - call' r es po nsibilities to resp o nd to emerge n cies a nd ot h er si tu ations duri n g and after normal busine s s ho u r s . + Manage sign-in/sign-out procedures for all residential students. + Respond to and document maintenance issues, collaborating with facilities when needed. + Conduct nightly rounds and ensure compliance with program curfews and quiet hours. Qualifications + Currently enrolled in a Master's or Doctoral program in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or a related field. + Previous experience in residence life, housing operations, youth supervision or student supervision preferred. + Strong leadership, organizational, and crisis management skills. + Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain confidentiality. + Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and engaging residential environment for high school students. Preferred Qualifications + Experience supervising or mentoring student staff. + Familiarity with FERPA, Title IX, and Clery Act compliance. + CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to program start. Compens a ti o n: Internsh i ps will be i n-pers o n. The Housing Manager intern will reside in on - campus hous i ng on a Pre-College f l oo r, am o n g s ta f f a n d Pre-C o llege studen t s. Interns are provid e d with a single room in a UM resi d ence ha l l, a meal p l a n, a nd a c c e ss to t he f i t n e s s c e nt e r. Inters will be paid monthly, on the last day of each month for the assignment.
