Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio. In this role, you will play a vital part in managing the companyu2019s financial obligations by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments. This is a long-term contract position in the manufacturing industry, offering an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment while enhancing your accounting expertise. Responsibilities: u2022 Accurately process and review vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and compliance with company policies. u2022 Match invoices with purchase orders and receiving documents to verify accuracy. u2022 Prepare and execute payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments. u2022 Reconcile vendor statements and address any discrepancies or issues with invoices. u2022 Maintain well-organized and up-to-date accounts payable records and files. u2022 Respond promptly to vendor inquiries regarding payment statuses and resolve concerns. u2022 Assist in month-end closing activities, including accounts payable accruals and reporting. u2022 Ensure adherence to internal controls and established accounting procedures. u2022 Provide documentation and support during audits as requested. u2022 Perform additional administrative and accounting tasks to support the team. Requirements u2022 High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred. u2022 Minimum of 1u20133 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting. u2022 Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks. u2022 Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. u2022 Excellent communication skills for effective interactions with vendors and internal teams. u2022 Proficiency in accounts payable processes, including invoice coding and payments. u2022 Familiarity with Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions and check runs. u2022 Organizational skills to maintain orderly and accurate financial records.
