A&P Mechanic

Job Title: A&P Mechanic Location: Bridgewater, Virginia Type of Position: Contract Shift: Mon-Fri 7AM-4PM Pay: $50/hr including per diem ($32.50/hr with $140/day om 7 day per diem) Job Description This role involves performing C checks and heavy maintenance on aircraft for military and government customers. The position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong commitment to safety standards. Responsibilities + Examine and inspect aircraft components, such as landing gear, hydraulic systems, and deicers, to identify cracks, breaks, leaks, or other issues. + Conduct routine and special inspections as mandated by regulations. + Inspect completed work to certify that maintenance meets standards and that aircraft are ready for operation. + Read and interpret maintenance manuals, manufacturer publications, and directives to determine the feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. + Maintain repair logs, documenting all preventive and corrective aircraft maintenance. + Modify aircraft structures, systems, or components, following drawings, schematics, charts, engineering orders, and technical publications. + Replace or repair worn, defective, or damaged components using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment. + Read and interpret pilots' descriptions of problems to diagnose causes. + Assemble and install electrical, plumbing, mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components and accessories using hand or power tools. + Inventory and order supplies, parts, materials, and equipment. + Check for corrosion, distortion, and cracks in the fuselage, wings, and tail. Essential Skills + A&P license + 5 years of heavy maintenance or modification experience on aircraft + Experience in MRO or depot level maintenance environment + Experience with C checks, D checks, and heavy checks + Ability to provide own tools + Eligibility for a Secret clearance Additional Skills & Qualifications + Military background preferred Why Work Here?
