Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description As a Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring a safe and efficient work environment by supporting and complying with all Safety, Health, Environment, Community, and Sustainability (SHECS) policies and procedures. You will conduct Job Cycle Checks, Safety Conversations, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures. Your role also involves supporting the shredding equipment operation, performing system checks, preventative maintenance, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives. This is a 1st shift position Responsibilities + Support and comply with all SHECS policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment. + Conduct Job Cycle Checks and Safety Conversations. + Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures and Safe Work Procedures. + Submit Hazard Reports. + Identify and assist with continuous improvement and cost control activities. + Support equipment operation by performing system checks and preventative maintenance. + Communicate inventory levels to the Inventory Specialist to minimize machine downtime. + Ensure the department is kept clean and dust-free, changing air filters as required. + Schedule preventive maintenance to avoid interference with production. + Perform general facility maintenance. + Operate mobile plant equipment and train as necessary. Essential Skills + Electrical skills including changing out outlets and ballasts. + Plumbing skills. + HVAC knowledge. + Troubleshooting and repair skills. + Mechanical and facilities maintenance experience. + Experience with hydraulics and painting. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Chicago, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
