Summary The Deputy Chief of Staff for Clinical Support reports to the Chief of Staff and serves as the principal assistant to the Chief of Staff in all clinical, administrative and performance matters. Responsibilities This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until September 30, 2026. The initial cut-off date for referral of eligible applicants will be April 6, 2026 with subsequent cut-off dates every week. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as-needed basis until position is filled. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Has knowledge of VA Performance Measures for Quality Healthcare (HEDIS/ORXY) and demonstrates working knowledge of patient satisfaction performance initiatives and access measures. The Deputy Chief of Staff will assist in coordinating clinical and support program development to meet those needs including advising the Chief of Staff and Director about adequacy and appropriateness of the organization's scope of services and Its professional and support staff. Facilitate efforts to strengthen clinical programs and operational issues involving individual veterans and identifying opportunities to increase collaboration with community partners. The Deputy Chief of Staff will represent the Chief of Staff in all aspects of administrative leadership, including but not limited to: serve as a member of key healthcare system managerial bodies including serving as a member of the organized medical staff, attending its meetings and helping to ensure adherence to its bylaws, rules and regulations, working with other healthcare professionals to establish policies so that all healthcare professionals practice within the scope of their licenses, consulting in developing and maintaining an adequate medical record system and participating in service training programs. The Deputy Chief of Staff will also be a member of the peer review committee, chair compensation panels and participate in other standing committees. The Deputy Chief of Staff will coordinate and integrate programs into a comprehensive package of services to meet the needs of Veterans by participating in establishing policies, procedures and guidelines to ensure adequate, comprehensive services. The Deputy Chief of Staff will provides assistance on top management administrative matters affecting patient care, education and organizational policy. Provides strategic planning and direction to programs to ensure successful progression and improvement and will contribute to the strategic mission, vision values and goals of the Carl Vinson VA Medical Center (CVVAMC).
