Software Engineer

Job Title: Software EngineerJob Description Under general supervision, design, develop, troubleshoot, and analyze software programs for computer-based systems. Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis. Design and develop compilers, assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. As required, provide inputs for documentation of new or existing programs. Essential Skills + Proficiency in C++ or Java programming in a Linux operating system. + Experience in software design, design implementation, subsystem and system integration, and testing. + Experience with software requirements review, preliminary and critical design reviews, integration readiness review, and software acceptance reviews. + Knowledge of IDEs such as Eclipse and experience with Linux, embedded software, Java, object-oriented programming, UML, and UNIX. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with Object-Oriented design/development, including the use of Design Patterns and software insulation techniques. + 2+ years of experience in software development with C++. + Experience with Python and Bash is a plus. + Familiarity with Windows, Solaris, and Linux environments. + Experience developing Solaris and other variants of UNIX scripts. + Familiarity with the xUnit framework, especially JUnit and CppUnitLite. + Experience with CMMI Level 5 life cycle processes and procedures. Work Environment Work will be performed at a facility in support of the Aegis Missile Defense program. The position offers long-term contracts, PTO flexibility, and a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off. The program is a stable work environment with a history of over 40 years, utilized by the US Navy and multiple international allies. Supporting government defense provides a stable and rewarding work environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Moorestown, NJ.
