You will be an integral part of a 20-person team, responsible for conducting construction layouts, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys. After developing in the initial months, you will also perform ALTA surveys. Responsibilities + Conduct construction layout, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and boundary surveys. + Collaborate with an Instrument Operator in a two-person crew or work independently in a one-person crew. + Utilize Trimble equipment, including GPS base and rover units, VRS networks, Robotic total stations, Digital level, TSC7 data collectors, and TBC processing software. + Engage in commercial, industrial, multifamily residential, and institutional projects. + Perform both post-design surveys for our construction services team and pre-design survey work for other civil and architectural firms. + Minimal overnight travel, typically one night at a time. Essential Skills + 4+ years of professional experience as a Survey Crew Chief. + Field experience in construction layout, boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA surveys. + Proficiency with civil survey, topography, total station, GPS, land survey, and boundary survey software. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Must pass a Drug Test, Background Check, and have a good driving record. + Submit to MVR check. Work Environment The role involves working outdoors in the field, traveling directly from home to job sites with a high degree of autonomy. Crew Chiefs average 45-50 hours per week, occasionally reaching 55 hours in summer. The position includes a Saturday rotation, working one Saturday per month, with flexibility to switch schedules with others.
