Your Opportunity We are seeking an exceptionally talented and enthusiastic Biologist with a keen interest in the natural sciences to join our team and advance their career. Our Environmental Services group is dedicated to managing environmental issues professionally and proactively. We help our clients identify and respond to opportunities and threats within constantly changing regulatory and corporate environments, through active engagement with the public, stakeholder groups, and governmental regulators. Our team members have the opportunity to be involved in a variety of projects that may include endangered species assessments, environmental impact assessment, habitat restoration, wetland characterizations, and water resources management. Your Key Responsibilities- Assist with the coordination and management of environmental permitting, assessment, and/or compliance work related to the Endangered Species Act (ESA), Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA), Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act (BGEPA), National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and various federal and state agency requirements as they pertain to a variety of project types including renewable energy, energy transmission and generation facilities, transportation, and private development projects. - Assist the Project Lead with the preparation, research, review, and editing of technical documents, such as environmental assessments, environmental impact statements, habitat conservation plans, and environmental and technical reports. - Analyze and summarize data from wildlife field surveys and habitat assessments for a variety of species, and assisting with field work and collection of field data as needed. - Participate in multi-disciplinary environmental assessments; - Write technical reports for client and regulatory agency review. - Attend client and regulatory agency meetings and provide recommendations and input. Education and Experience - Master of Science Degree (preferred) in natural resources, ecology, wildlife, or related biological field; or a Bachelor of Science Degree with three to five years of relevant experience. - Knowledge of statistical methods and ability to assist with analysis of biological data. - Knowledge and/or experience with federal, state, and/or local environmental permitting processes specifically related to endangered species, ESA, MBTA, BGEPA, and/or NEPA. The typical office environment is working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
