Hydraulic Technician $30-$40/hr Monday - Friday 6:30am-4pm Gretna, NE Job Description A custom equipment manufacturer seeks a skilled Hydraulic Technician to support the assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of hydraulic systems used in engineered construction and industrial equipment. This role is critical in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and performance in both shop and field environments. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on hydraulic experience, a safety-first mindset, and enjoys working on one-of-a-kind or highly customized equipment builds. Responsibilities + Assemble, install, and test hydraulic systems on custom-engineered equipment. + Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, drawings, and technical documentation. + Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electro-hydraulic issues. + Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and system upgrades. + Assist with equipment startup, commissioning, and functional testing. + Collaborate with engineering and fabrication teams during prototype and production builds. + Ensure work meets quality, safety, and customer specifications. + Provide occasional field support or job-site assistance as required. Essential Skills + 3+ years hands-on hydraulic experience (industrial or heavy equipment). + Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics. + Experience using diagnostic tools and pressure testing equipment. + Solid mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong understanding of hydraulic pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and controls. + High attention to detail and ability to translate drawings into physical builds. + Methodical and data-driven approach to troubleshooting system behavior. + Proactive mindset with a strong understanding of failure modes. Work Environment This position operates primarily in a manufacturing and equipment build shop with occasional field or job-site support as projects require. Employees should be comfortable working around industrial machinery, following safety protocols, and performing physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, lifting components, and working in confined or elevated spaces when necessary. Collaboration with engineering, fabrication, and project teams is a regular part of the role, requiring clear communication and adaptability in a project-driven environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gretna, NE. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
