In this role, you willassistRNs, physicians,dietitians,and other staff in coordinating and fulfilling treatment plans. You will also find a culture that encourages professional growth, educationaldevelopment,and career success.With this being a CCFSR role, you will cycle between Martin North, MartinSouthand Tradition Hospitals, allowing you towork with diverse populations acrossnumerousunits, departments and locations while learning from many of our best caregivers.A caregiver in this position worksvarying shifts/daysfrom 6:00AM - 6:30PMor6:00PM - 6:30AM.Floating between Martin North, Martin South and Tradition Hospitals will berequired, as needed.A caregiver who excels in this role will:Assistwith direct and indirect patient care for one to two patients, such as rooming, vital signs,weightand pulse oximetry. If assigned to a closed unit, you willobservethree to four patients.Assure patient safety by ensuring that catheters,tubesor other medical equipment have not been removed or disconnected.Accompany and assist patients at all times, including transport, tests, transfersandambulation.Collect patient specimens for laboratory testing.Identifyand report changes in patient status to an RN or physician.Follow protocols and initiate CPR and other emergency measures plete all documentation and provide hand-off communication to caregivers responsible for the patient.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:High School Diplomaor GEDBasic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross for healthcare providers upon or within the three months of hireCompletion of ahospital-basedpatient companion training program or equivalent experience OR currently enrolled at an accredited school of Nursing, with completion of a Nursing Fundamentals Course OR have completedhospital-basedNA/PC orientation or equivalentKnowledge and understanding of basic patient care activities, such as basic hygiene, skincareand vital signsPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:Previousexperience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)Physical Requirements:Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.Personal Protective Equipment:Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.Pay RangeSalaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
