We are also a publicly traded company on the NYSE with the ticker symbol KNF and part of the S&P MidCap 400 index.We have an excellent opportunity for Screed Operators in our Central Idaho Division location, and we encourage applicants in the Coeur d'Alene, ID and Spokane, WA area to apply Duties and/or Responsibilities:Uses safe work procedures that comply with safety policies and regulations. (Federal, state, local and company policies). Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained. Safely and properly perform maintenance on paving machine. Safely and properly operate adjusting mechanism of paving machine. Bolts extensions to screed to adjust width as needed. Heat screed at beginning of shift. Observes distribution of paving material along screed and controls direction of screed. Clean screed at end of shift. Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations. Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others. Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors. Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance. Job requires steady to intermittent and repetitive physical activity including: standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven ground, lifting, carrying, pushing, shoveling, and raking.Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: One year or more experience operating screed equipment-Has knowledge of the aspects of paving operations-A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred-Valid driver's license-Must be able to work day shifts and night shifts. Shifts may vary according to project demands-Must be able to work in all weather conditions-Must be willing to travel if job requires-Must pass a pre-employment drug screen How To Apply: At Knife River, we are committed to helping our military transition to civilian life.
