Location: New York, NY Category: System Administration Posted On: Fri Mar 27 2026 Job Description: Job Summary: SUNY is partnering with the New York Public Library to provide currently enrolled SUNY students an internship opportunity in New York City to gain skills and hands-on experience this summer. The internship will run from June through Early August. Intern may be scheduled for up to 35 hours a week based on the operational needs. Interns will have the opportunity to work with the NYPL in the Volunteer Department. Job Duties: + Join the Volunteer Team, part of the Human Resources Department, for a busy summer supporting large volunteer-led events and initiatives such as Summer Meals for Youth and the US250 Celebration. ( + Work closely with the Visitor Services, Exhibition, Youth Programs, Public Programs and Outreach Departments. + Learn Volunteer Management software, Better Impact + Help us recruit, train, deploy and evaluate our NYPL volunteers + Attend US250 exhibition training sessions + Gain insight into how the Volunteer Department contributes to the library's overall mission ( and operations. Job Requirements: Required Education/Qualifications: + Must be a student currently enrolled at a participating SUNY campus + Candidates must be detail-oriented, possess outstanding communication and organizational skills. + Experience with various computer applications + Interest in events, museum education, public programs, human resources or volunteer engagement helpful This internship may require some travel across the Bronx, Manhattan and Staten Island in order to appropriately support our colleagues in the branches. Metrocard will be provided. Intern must be available to work the first week of July.
