Senior Product Architect-Clinical Ontology & Data Mapping Specialist at Cognizant in Boise, Idaho, United States Job Description Cognizant is seeking a Senior Product Architect-Clinical Ontology & Data Mapping Specialist to support the Matterhorn Ortho initiative. This role focuses on translating parameterized Orthopedic post-operative reports into the Apex ontology to enable standardized, ontology-driven reporting, while also evolving the Ortho ontology and Apex framework to support RX non-process compliance and future multi-specialty expansion. Key Responsibilities + Understand Apex ontology + Translate parameterized Orthopedic post-operative outputs (in JSON format) into Apex ontology-compliant structures for standardized reporting. + Define and document JSON-to-ontology mappings with semantic integrity and traceability. + Review and refine the Matterhorn Ortho ontology graph to ensure RXNorm compliance. + Partner with Apex ontology experts to recommend framework changes enabling multi-specialty scalability. + Collaborate with clinical, data science, and engineering teams to validate ontology and reporting outputs. Required Qualifications + Strong working knowledge of orthopedics (clinical procedures, terminology, workflows). + Hands-on experience with ontologies, knowledge graphs, or semantic data models. + Understanding of Standardization frameworks like RXNorms, SNOMED + Understanding of Insurance coding standards like CPT, ICD + Proven ability to analyze and transform complex data structures + Advanced proficiency working with complex Excel files. + Strong analytical skills and ability to reason about ontological design implications. + Excellent communication skills across clinical and technical stakeholders. Preferred Experience + Experience with healthcare documentation, clinical reporting, or EHR-adjacent platforms. + Experience with Standardization frameworks like RXNorms, SNOMED + Exposure to Insurance coding standards like CPT, ICD + Exposure to multi-specialty clinical systems or frameworks. + Familiarity with ontology-driven analytics or reporting pipelines.
