CTG is seeking to fill an Application Support Engineer (Java / PossibleNow / AWS) position for our client. Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 9 months Duties: + Provide L2 production support for PossibleNow (consent and compliance management) applications in a highly regulated environment + Troubleshoot issues across Java-based applications, middleware, and integrated systems + Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and recurring defects; document findings and corrective actions + Participate in on-call rotation and ensure adherence to SLAs + Manage incidents, problems, and change requests using ITSM tools such as ServiceNow + Monitor application health using Splunk (log analysis) and Dynatrace (APM and performance monitoring) + Analyze JVM metrics, thread dumps, heap dumps, and GC logs to diagnose performance issues + Proactively identify bottlenecks and recommend performance improvements + Develop dashboards, alerts, and monitoring enhancements to improve observability and reduce MTTR + Debug Java-based PossibleNow applications and related APIs (Spring/Spring Boot preferred) + Support REST/SOAP integrations and troubleshoot API-related issues + Work with application servers such as Tomcat, WebLogic, or JBoss + Execute SQL queries (Oracle/SQL Server) for troubleshooting and data validation + Support batch processing, ETL workflows, and data integrity checks + Assist in performance tuning and query optimization + Support code deployments, perform smoke testing, and validate production releases + Coordinate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipeline activities and deployment issues + Participate in change management and governance processes + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audit readiness + Follow secure coding practices and enforce access control policies Skills: + Strong proficiency in Java application support and troubleshooting + Hands-on experience with PossibleNow or similar compliance/consent management platforms + Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace + Solid understanding of application performance tuning and diagnostics + Strong SQL skills for data analysis and troubleshooting + Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command-line tools + Knowledge of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management) + Experience supporting REST/SOAP APIs and middleware technologies + Understanding of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub, AWS DevOps) + Familiarity with AWS cloud environments + Experience with batch processing, file transfers (SFTP, Connect:Direct), and scripting (Shell/Python) is a plus Experience: + 4+ years of experience in Application/Production Support roles + Experience supporting mission-critical applications in regulated environments (e.g., financial services) preferred + Proven experience in incident management, monitoring, and performance optimization + Experience working in cross-functional teams including Development, Infrastructure, Database, and Business stakeholders Education: + Bacheloru2019s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
