FTE: 0.600000 Standard Hours: 24.00 Shift: Shift 1 Shift Details:06:00-18:30 x 2 days per week. Holidays: Holiday rotation required.Weekends: Every third weekend rotation. Job Summary: The RespiratoryCare Practitioner (RCP) 2 is highly proficient in the management anddelivery of respiratory care. Demonstrates competencies in respiratoryassessments and procedures for all patient populations and age groups.Performs and interacts as a healthcare professional administeringrespiratory care procedures acute care areas and critical care areas.Demonstrates critical thinking skills and the mastery of clinical skillsoutlined in the RCP 2 COT. Precepts students on rotation. Exhibitsleadership skills and is able to act as lead therapist as needed. Underthe direction of the Pulmonary Services Leadership team, providesprofessional respiratory care to patients in accordance with thehospital's policies and procedures. EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of1 year of experience plus the ability to show RCP II competency within 6months of hire/transfer into role is required. A minimum of 2 years ofexperience in a hospital setting providing respiratory care ispreferred. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Associate degree from a CoARCaccredited Respiratory Care program is required. Bachelor's degree ispreferred. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Critical thinking skills arerequired. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: State of Wisconsin license as aRespiratory Care Practitioner is required; Registered RespiratoryTherapist (RRT) for the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) isrequired. For incumbents in this role prior to 7/1/21, the CertifiedRespiratory Therapist (CRT) will be accepted in lieu of the RRT.American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for HealthcareProvider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required. American HeartAssociation (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.Advanced specialty credential from the NBRC or Asthma EducatorCertification(AE-C) from the National Asthma Educator CertificationBoard (NAECB) is preferred.
