JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB SUMMARY: The Network Architect is responsible forthe design, modernization, maintenance, monitoring, patching, update anddocumentation of the network and infrastructure across 4 sites as wellas over 300 buses and stations. This position assists with strategicplanning and innovative solutions and applies advanced technicalknowledge to implement and support enterprise voice, video and dataservices that align with the Company's business and IT objectives. TheNetwork Architect provides hands-on technical capabilities and managessimple and enterprise-wide projects from initiation to completion forthe voice, video and data infrastructure. This position partners withstakeholders, vendors and the IT Department team to define requirementsand to develop architecture for scalable and reliable networkinfrastructure to meet present and future business needs. ORGANIZATIONSTRUCTURE: The Network Architect reports to the Director of InformationTechnology. NATURE OF WORK AND JOB SCALE: The Network Architect reviewsall design plans prior to implementation of network changes; and reviewsall post implementation documentation. This position is responsible formanaging the performance and production of Cyber security analysts,network contractors, and ensures the established expectations are met.This position also monitors, maintains and updates networkinfrastructure, phones, bus technology and collaborates with the Networkoperations manager on server, SAN, phone and VM health. The NetworkArchitect has access to all administrative passwords, combinations tosafes, and direct access to highly sensitive information. This positionis a level 2 support position and will handle calls escalated from thehelp desk. The Network Architect also provides support to the otherSenior Systems Administrators. The Network Architect carries the on-callphone during off hours as part of the operations staff rotation. Theon-call responsibilities require this position to be available at alltimes during their on-call rotation. While on-call, this position mustaddress all issues that are deemed to be business-critical as soon aspossible by either coming on-site or addressing the issues remotely. Anycalls that come in during the on-call period that are notbusiness-critical must be documented and sent to the appropriate ITrepresentative to be addressed during the next business day. Duringnon-work hours, and during periods when this position is not on-call, ifthe Network Architect is available, it is expected that this positionwill help or provide assistance to the network engineers. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS: Provide Project Management for Information Technologyupgrades and improvements. Coordinate and supervise vendor personnel inthe development, installation, operation and maintenance of computer andIT infrastructure systems. Conduct routine hardware and software auditsof the network infrastructure to ensure compliance with establishedstandards, policies, best practices and configuration guidelines.Develop and maintain network communications between existing and new ITinfrastructure. Configure, test, and maintain security protocols on allIT infrastructure, including intrusion detection systems and networkaccess. Recommend purchases and upgrades of hardware and software,including maintenance and support. Design, installation, maintenance andenhancements of a wired and wireless network that delivers voice, videoand data services on corporate production and guest networks. Executeperimeter network security including firewalls. Maintenance of privateDHCP services and both public and private DNS services Ensure dataintegrity and security by evaluating, implementing, and managingappropriate network infrastructure hardware and software solutionsutilizing industry standards and best practices. Work with voice anddata service providers to obtain new service an troubleshoot/maintainexisting service. Work with Cellular providers and engineers toestablish connectivity including APN and PCI requirements. Provideassistance to the Director of IT with budgeting, planning, anddeveloping standards, policies, and administrative needs. Document andshare all processes and solutions in a manor to which any technicalstaff would be able to follow. Provide rotational support of on-callphone. Layer 3 routing experience. Five years ofdirect experience designing network architecture. Six years ofexperience with configuration of network infrastructure and systemarchitecting Must have project management knowledge. Excellent oral andwritten communication skills. Proven track record of migrating systemsand technology. Some Supervisory experience. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Direct experience working with SIP and VoIP protocols Comprehensiveknowledge of Cisco IOS advanced configuration (includes EIGRP, OSPF,RIP, BGP routing protocols). Comprehensive knowledge of VLANconfiguration and troubleshooting, DNS, Spanning Tree, NTP and FiberOptic. Comprehensive knowledge of Firewall and DMZ programming andadministration Considerable knowledge of Active Directory advanced(create OU's, Group Policy, Forests etc.) Considerable knowledge ofSolar winds, Extreme Wireless networks, Microsoft SCCM, Ninja andMicrosoft Exchange. Working knowledge of Windows PowerShell and Linuxscripting. CISCO Certified is preferred. Ability to manage multipleprojects. Desire and ability to absorb/seek/teach new technologies.Ability to use good judgment and experience to resolve complex issuesand challenges. Ability to take ownership for work and initiative forrequests, incidents and problems. Knowledge of PCI requirements.Experience with Cellular technology and routing as a network extension.Experience with Cradlepoint routers. Cyber security systems knowledge(E.g. Darktrace, rapid7, Forescout).
