Senior Database Administrator

Candidates must be willing to commute to Madison, WI asneeded. The ITDatabase Administrator-Senior role at Group HealthCooperative (GHC-SCW) is to design, install, monitor, maintain, andperformance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of dataavailability. This individual is also responsible for developing,implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensurethe integrity and availability of databases and their accompanyingsoftware. The incumbent is expected to provide leadership and technicalguidance to staff, monitor project status and results, and facilitateteamwork and accountability. Work is performed independently under thegeneral direction, guidance, and supervision of the Technical ServicesManager. JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma orequivalent required. College diploma or university degree in the fieldof computer science and/or four (4) to six (6) years equivalent relevantwork experience. Administration certifications for Microsoft SQL, Irisand Business Objects Enterprise are preferred. As a condition ofemployment incumbent must obtain certificates needed to comply withEpic's good maintenance program within two (2) years. All requiredcertifications must be current and maintained by incumbent. Strongunderstanding of database structures, theories, principles, andpractices. Experience with project management and data processingflowcharting techniques. Working technical experience with designing,building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers,including Microsoft SQL and Iris. Experience with Linux is preferred.Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience. Experiencesupporting Epic Systems technologies such as Clarity, EPS and DataCourier is preferred. Experience with database platforms, including OLAPtechnology and Business Objects/SAP solutions. Good knowledge ofapplicable data privacy practices and laws. Exceptional analytical,conceptual, and problem-solving abilities Excellent technicalarchitecture and technical support documentation skills. Ability to staycurrent on, and adapt to, rapidly changing technology. Strongpresentation, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to beculturally sensitive and work with diverse populations. Possession of avalid Wisconsin driver license with good driving record.
