They help us create and continue to deliveron our mission.What does this position entail?This position is responsible for ensuring a welcoming and efficientgreeting and check-in experience for patients and visitors at the clinicin a prompt, courteous, and professional manner. Ensure all appropriateforms are complete, accurate, and signed according to companyguidelines. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff fortheir appointments. This individual must also possess strongmulti-tasking abilities for check-in responsibilities and inbound callsand message coordination. Additionally, the position supports andadheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code ofEthics and Business Standards, and US Oncologys Shared Values.ResponsibilitiesThe essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:- Serve patients and visitors of the clinic by greeting, welcoming and directing as appropriate and in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner upon both arrival and departure.- Completes check-in steps within the PMS and EMR to notify appropriate areas of patient arrivals.- Communicates with staff on guest/ visitor arrivals, ensures guest sign-in and badge process is complete.- Collects, proofs for completeness and assists in filing or directing flow of patient forms.- May obtain and or updates demographics and insurance information in the system, when appropriate.- May collect co-pays and balances; provides receipt.- May collect updated insurance, co-pay or identification cards; scans and attached to the appropriate system.- Answers phone calls in a prompt, courteous, professional manner.- Provides general administrative support by scanning/filing charts and forms or ensuring they are sent to the appropriate department/personnel for filing and scanning or scans and files when requested.- Maintains area in a neat and orderly manner.- Maintains the daily appointment list for their site/ area and identifies no-shows, completing the documentation workflow for the same.- Maintains a legible supply of forms and appropriate office supplies required for daily activities.- Cross trains on other front desk responsibilities and duties that may vary based on location or department.- Remains current on all compliance requirements and in part, demonstrates knowledge of Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) laws and guidelines with regards to patients records and information.- Attends required, applicable meetings.- Remains current on all compliance requirements.- Ensures all applicable policies and procedures of the company and Network are followed.- Other duties as requested or assigned including coverage within the department.Supervisory Responsibilities: None.Please note the following environmental and physical components:Physical Demands of the Job: Physical demands described here are representative of those that must bemet by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions ofthis job.
