Depending on the area the student assistantis employed in, they may assist and mentor other students or providesupport throughout the campus in various forms.Job DutiesPerformance testing of metals and polymers.Data collection, correlation, interpretation, and analysis.Follow industry test methods like ASTM and ISO.Sample preparation for testing, conditioning, and operating analyticalinstruments.Prepare reports, presentations, and technical documentation.Required EducationHigh school diploma or equivalentRequirementsUndergraduate or graduate students majoring in Chemistry, Mechanical,Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-pacedenvironment.Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectivelywith colleagues and supervisors.Additional InformationHandling Hazardous materials.Ability to stand for long periods of timeThe position requires climbing and liftingPhysical RequirementsAbility to remain in a stationary position.Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment, including butnot limited to phones, printers, copiers, and calculators.Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information.
